KA'U Learning Academy
The Fournier Center for Empowerment is the founding and govorning agency over the Ka’u Learning Academy a hybrid charter school in the southern Hawaiian community of Ka’u. This part of Hawaii is home to hundreds of indigenous families and children who have little or no access to a quality education. The public schools in this area are continually among the lowest ranked in the United States, and the children are ill-prepared to meet the challenges of our modern world. The Center for Empowerment created the Academy as a prototype for schools that specialize in serving underpriveledged and underserved children and their communities.
